Best Birthday Gifts

Of all the things in the world, what every human loves is birthdays. Children are always excited and overjoyed about this beautiful celebration. When I was a child, I remember always looking forward to my birthday. And it was just for the gifts that I would ask my parents to organise a birthday party and invite all of my school friends and neighbors, even the ones who were new. A thought that they would come with presents for me had been a great pleasure for me! I secretly loved real life story books and loved receiving them as gifts from friends and relatives.   I also remember when once one of my best friends from school came at my birthday, he was holding a big carton. Wow! I was so happy to see such a big present in his hands, but when it was opened, it had nothing except a ball. Rest of that carton was filled with thermocol. I never invited that friend of mine ever again! Years gone by now, a couple of days ago my daughter came to me and asked if she could invite her sc

Books that inspire

So well said the Nobel laureate Ernest Hemingway that there is no friend as loyal as a book. Books are those good friends that not only are loyal but also inspire you to become a better person. Reading books increases your vocabulary, command over the language, improves thinking power and gives you enormous ideas and emotions. It is so that the publishing industry has taken a big shift in the last decade. While fiction ruled the literary world earlier, recently writers and publishers have shown interest in publishing inspirational books for readers. Love for Autobiographies

Image
Ever since I was a small child, I have had loved stories. Where in the initial days I loved folktales told by my grandmother and mother, with time, my interest moved to the real stories of great people. Autobiographies , as people call them. Since then, I have read many books on people who have changed the world. Benjamin Franklin, Steve Jobs, Nelson Mandela, Adolf Hitler and many sports stars as well. But what I have loved the most are the books written by people themselves. What would be more interesting – someone telling you what good or bad happened in someone else’s life or someone telling you what drastic happened in their own life? To me, frankly speaking, the latter one is more appealing, so I buy autobiography every weekend. Every Sunday, I wake up with a thrill to start a new autobiography and don’t put it down till I finish it. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, nothing matters when I have a refreshing book in my hands.
