Maneesh Media: Leading Towards a World of Inspirations
The release of our coffee-table book Jewels of Gujarat – Leading Global Gujarati Personalities: Vol. II is now a fortnight old, and we yet are not out of the beauty displayed at the event. Watching so many among the Indian diaspora, all together, was a sight as they discussed, talked, smiled and laughed, all towards a new India!
With the lead guests being Dr. Kiran Patel, the leading cardiologist and businessman and an international philanthropist; Dr. Vimal Shah, successfully mentoring many into agribusiness leading the entire Africa to growth with Bidco Africa; Mr. Rizwan Adatia, giving work opportunities to several across the world, and creating better lives for the aged especially those left behind at old-age homes; Mr. Vinod Patel, a leading politician, an activist, a youth-enthusiast; Mr. M.P. Rama, the hotelier whose main focus is on his country's education and health; Mr. Manhar Manu Shah, the leader of international stone industry, empowering women, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and glitz.
The book, receiving innumerable compliments from each of the attendees, was the star of the evening. Launched amid much fanfare and glamour and éclat, the book featured the who's who of the society, who have become so not just by their fortunes, but because of their deeds. Earning respect for their incessant hard-work and selfless service to the society, some if these people trace their history of migration to different parts of the world several years back, while others took their first step out of India to seek better earning for their families.
We had a chance to talk to some of the guests, and realised why were these the jewels! Many of these people once had nothing to begin from, while others lost it all. Some were plagued by the misfortunes of life, others grew up befriending destitution. But here they were, successful and how! People talk about them, seek to learn from them, desire to know the secrets. Don't we at times, simply seek an energy, an inspiration to continue doing what we ought to, what we need to, what we must?
Yet, there are times when we look for ways to do something for the society. Here was a set of people who commit themselves to the society as an equal part of their routine. They quenched many queries on putting efforts and the direction to take it forward.
As we rushed around with the last minute tasks, watching the guests smile and accepting the compliments, eased us; nevertheless, adrenaline kept on a rush.
We hope to keep creating such smiles...
