Yusuff Ali – The Indian Tycoon Converts Scotland Yard into a Luxury Hotel

Scotland Yard, the name synonymous with detection of crime, the facade of which is etched in the memories of many generations, by the end of this year will be one of the most luxurious 5-star hotels. Let’s for once try and estimate the luxury it will offer with each night here costing a whopping Rs 75 lac per night. All the luxuries are being offered by an Indian multi-billionaire from Kerala, Yusuff Ali, who has shelled as much as 75 million pounds to revamp it. Lulu Group, chaired by Ali, bought the rather mysterious and famous building in 2015 for around 110 million pounds! Once a home to Britain’s Metropolitan Police Service, this building will now offer 150 bedrooms and 11 luxury suites. A signature restaurant with bars, gym, corporate meeting rooms & halls, banquet and library. The interiors, they say, easily remind of the property’s military past and suit the taste of ultra-rich. Now that it was a jail once, some of the rooms are sure to have been prisoner cells too
